P6 - Showreel

The first part of my show reel showcases some of my photography that I take and edit for fun and paid work outside of college. I do a lot of photography outside of college, but I have also done a bit of photography on our media course so I know a lot about photography course and it is probably my strongest area in media. A lot of the photographs are taken in London because this is where I go mostly to do photography because I have lot of photography friends that I meet up with there so we can share ideas and take photos together. Also the architecture in London is pretty good so that is another reason why I go there quite often to take my pictures. I know my way around a camera and I am proficient with all camera settings, I also edit all my pictures in RAW on Adobe Photoshop so I know how to use professional software and other reasons.

My film section was a music video that I made for a college course that required us to make a music video that was made by an independent artist that didn’t already have a music video. We picked a local band that was happy to let us use their music called the Staycations. My role on the music video was to film the music video so all of the shots that you see in the showreel were shot by me and also edited by me too because we all had to are own edits on the video. We used Adobe Premiere to edit the music video so I am proficient in editing using fairly professional software. In the editing process we had to lip sync and also colour grade the whole music video so this was quite a big editing project. Learning how to colour grade was very interesting it was something I had never done but I now have another video editing skill that gives my video a more professional look and brings the RAW footage better colour and lighting.

My graphics section of my showreel was a showcase of some of my work that I did for another unit of my college course. This time we had to brand our own company and create media products that would help our company to sell their products. I first of all designed a logo that people would remember and recognise quickly and looks good on posters, t-shirts and other graphics products. I decided to make a poster for my company so that people know what the company is all about, my company's aim was to sell custom bikes. So I created a poster that would really stand out and people would notice and sells to a young market. I used Adobe Illustrator to make the logo and create the custom typeface, then used Adobe Photoshop to edit the picture and also add the logo to the poster and also the t-shirts that I put the logo on that I also designed on adobe photoshop using vectors from Adobe Illustrator. I am very proficient in both Photoshop and Illustrator and know how to use them to design logos and other graphic products.
