P4 - Flow Diagram For Future Plans
03:01
The Media and IT courses that I am taking is going to really help with my future career path because it proves I have real experience in using professional grade cameras. When I leave Long Road I am planning to add lots to my portfolio such as short films and photography that I have produced so that it when I look to apply to the camera man position. I am also looking to gain experience in a real life studio so that I can see how a real film studio will work. I am also going to offer my skills to companies to produce some short films for them and then I can add this to my portfolio as well this shows I have also had lots of experience too helping me get an apprenticeship or a full time job in this sector. Although I have very little professional equipment at home I can always borrow or save up money from my part time job to fund the equipment I want to buy to produce more professional and pleasing content. I haven't got any contacts in the industry which is a problem but I can also solve this by doing unpaid work experience in studios and creating shorts for companies. I haven't passed my driving test but I am taking my test very soon this means that I will be able to say to future employers that I can commute to anywhere if thats what the course requires.
Contingency Plan
If I don't get the apprenticeship with a production company that I want to get one with I will look into university courses that I could take up to gain a degree and then I would apply for a full time job in the industry. A lot of people in the media industry have degrees so this would be a good back up plan for me. Or I could get a entry level job at a production company and work my way up to the top. Also if I can't get that then I could keep my part time job and then still ask for work experience in the industry at various different studios and shoots.
